Achtergrond van het onderzoek
In this study we want to investigate kinetics of the novel kidney function biomarker PENK during a non-inflammatory, non-steady-state situation by assessing serial PENK plasma and urine concentrations in living kidney donors. The kinetics of the plasma concentration after donating the kidney (and thereby acutely halving the kidney function) will be determined. PENK concentrations will be compared to the creatinine-based eGFR and other biomarkers for kidney damage and function.

- Baseline kidney function: eGFR > 60 mL/min
