Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) satisfaction of activities
Achtergrond van het onderzoek
Knee Arthroplasty patients are getting younger and they wish to perform many activities of daily life, work and leisure time. At the moment only 20% is satisfied concerning leisure time activities and sports after KA and two in ten patients does not return to work. A ‘one size fits all’- rehabilitation procedure seems inappropriate. Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS) is a valid method for assessment of progress in rehabilitation, along individualized set goals. Objectives of the ACTION trial are to investigate the effect of a multidisciplinary, goal-attained and individualized rehabilitation intervention on satisfaction regarding activities, on activity levels, on satisfaction of daily life, work and leisure time activities and on overall satisfaction in younger knee arthroplasty patients (<65 years).
Doel van het onderzoek
Multidisciplinary, goal-attained and individualized rehabilitation after knee arthroplasty will result in more satisfaction regarding activities (level of activities and overall satisfaction) in younger knee arthroplasty patients (<65 years).
Onderzoeksopzet
before surgery, at three months after surgery, at six months after surgery and at 12 months after surgery.
Onderzoeksproduct en/of interventie
GAS - rehabilitation, in which in a multidisciplinary team, including the orthopaedic surgeon, physiotherapist and patient, three rehabilitation goals (of activities of daily life, of work and of leisure time) will be set, for which an individualized rehabilitation protocol will be created by their treating (GAS-trained) physiotherapist.
