Outcome measures
Primary outcome
In order to find a relation between the daily life and the laboratory
situation, questionnaires assessing the daily life situation are correlated
with the laboratory tests.
Secondary outcome
NA
Background summary
Indications for fitting one or two hearing aids are not always clear. People
with moderate to severe hearing loss appear to be able to localise sounds
considerably better with two hearing aids than with one hearing aid.
Study objective
The aim of this study is to investigate which (combination of) laboratory
situations require the full benefit of binaural hearing.
Study design
A two-centred, observational feasibility study
Study burden and risks
Since this study is observational, the burden for the patient is minimal.
Several tests, similar or equal to those done in clinical practice, will be
done during a one time visit, after which the patient is requested to use one
HA for the period of two weeks. If desired, the subject can always choose to
start using two HAs again during this period.
