Background summary
To investigate the impact of a surgical intervention on the quality of life of children with uveitis, children are asked to fill out a short pediatric, uveitic, visual-based quality of life questionnaire (EYE-Q) in their native language two times, pre and post-surgery, supplemented with a Numeric Rating Scale for pain.
Study objective
Both surgical interventions have impact on the quality of life
Study design
Before and 3 months after surgical intervention
Inclusion criteria
● Children with anterior uveitis, diagnosed by a specialist clinician, based on the SUN criteria
● Uveitis care at the Ophthalmology Department at the UMC Groningen, the Augenzentrum at St. Franziskus Hospital Münster and the Ophthalmology Department at the UMC Utrecht
● A medical indication to cataract surgery (with or without IOL implantation) or glaucoma surgery (trabeculectomy, drainage implants or stents)
Exclusion criteria
● Children > 16 years of age at uveitis onset
● Children < 7 years of age at the time of surgery
